Michael Furey has worked in the wealth management industry since 1999 and spent four years as Head of Research for Suncorp’s advisory businesses which included Suncorp Financial Services, Guardian Advice, and Cameron Walshe. Michael has published investment articles in publications such as IFA Magazine and Journal of Financial Advice; is a regular presenter at Professional Development and Investment Conferences across a range of investment topics including investment strategy and investment behaviour. He is a leading expert in the areas of quantitative analysis and its application to investment selection, as well portfolio construction for decumulation. As an experienced former financial adviser in both banking and IFA markets, Michael understands the intricacies of client and adviser’s portfolio requirements.
Michael’s educational qualifications include a Masters of Applied Finance & Investment, Level 2 Accredited Derivatives Adviser (ADA), Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning, and Bachelor of Mathematics (Statistics). He is also a Certified Investmetn Management Analyst (CIMA®), Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), and a Senior Fellow of Financial Services Institute of Australia (SFFin).
